This Privacy Policy explains how InitD Training (“InitD”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data when you visit training.initd.sg (the “Site”), enrol in our courses, or otherwise interact with us. We are based in Singapore and handle personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Where applicable, we also honour the rights of visitors in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom under the GDPR.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you create an account or sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address, and a profile identifier from your Google account.
- Enrolment and learning data. The courses you enrol in, your progress and completion, and any reviews or feedback you submit.
- Purchase and billing details. When you buy a course, we collect your name, email, billing details, and order history. Card payments are processed by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card number.
- Communications. Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, the contact form, or blog comments, including their contents.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data. Pages viewed, links clicked, and similar analytics, collected via Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit).
- Device and connection data. Your IP address, browser type, and device information, including security logs kept by our firewall (Wordfence) to protect the Site.
- Cookies. See the “Cookies” section below.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and give you access to courses you enrol in.
- To process payments, send order confirmations, and provide receipts.
- To deliver, maintain, and improve our courses, content, and Site.
- To respond to your enquiries and provide customer and enrolment support.
- To send you service messages, and — where you have agreed — occasional updates about new courses or content. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Under the PDPA we collect, use, and disclose personal data for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, and with your consent where required. For GDPR visitors, our legal bases are performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Site, and compliance with legal obligations.
3. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember items in your cart, secure the Site, and understand how the Site is used. This includes:
- Essential cookies for login sessions, shopping cart, and checkout (WordPress and WooCommerce).
- Performance cookies set by our caching layer (LiteSpeed) to serve pages faster.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics to measure Site usage.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Site — such as signing in or checking out — from working.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Site and our courses, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google — sign-in (Google account) and analytics (Google Analytics / Site Kit).
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — our learning platform and course data are hosted on AWS in the Singapore (ap-southeast-1) region.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of InitD, our learners, or others.
5. International data transfers
We store and process personal data primarily in Singapore. Some of our service providers (such as Stripe and Google) may process data outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred overseas, we take steps to ensure it is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA, and — for GDPR visitors — that an appropriate transfer mechanism is in place.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above: account and learning records for as long as your account is active; order and payment records for as long as required by tax and accounting law; and support messages and comments for as long as needed to assist you. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. How we protect your data
We use HTTPS across the Site, restrict access to personal data to people who need it, and rely on reputable providers (Stripe, Google, AWS, Hostinger) with their own security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and ask how it has been used.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data.
- Request deletion of your personal data, subject to data we must keep for legal, accounting, or security reasons.
GDPR visitors additionally have rights to data portability, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
9. Blog comments
If you leave a comment on our blog, we collect the details shown in the comment form along with your IP address and browser information to help detect spam. Your name and comment are visible publicly. You can ask us to remove your comments and associated personal data at any time.
10. Children’s privacy
Our courses and Site are intended for adults and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site links to other websites (for example, Anthropic’s documentation or our social profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their own privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
